-18 minutes: Up to 30 days
-36 minutes: Up to 60 days

How many bursts of fragrance are there in a refill?

There are up to 2,400 bursts of fragrance in a refill.

What’s the benefit of AIR WICK® FreshMatic® Automatic Spray over other air fresheners?

AIR WICK® FreshMatic® automatically delivers regular and continuous bursts of fragrance throughout the day, so you get the same level of fragrancing from the beginning of the refill to the end.

Can you adjust the fragrance level?

AIR WICK® FreshMatic® has three time interval settings. You can set it to spray every 9, 18, or 36 minutes allowing you to have control over the fragrance level.

Where should you put the device?

It can be simply placed on the edge of a shelf or cupboard, a height of at least 6 ft above ground and above eye level. It should be placed away from furniture, electronics, and open flames. Do not position near heat. Do not place on top of TV sets.

How do you know when the batteries have run out?

The green LED light on the front of the device will stop flashing as the device will no longer be working. The batteries will generally last 4-5 refills variable.

What is the proper way to insert the refill?

Keeping the unit directed away from your face at all times, switch the unit to "off" before attempting to insert the refill. To open the gadget, depress the button on the top and pull the front cover forward. Insert the refill can. The nozzle should be facing toward the front of the gadget. When the gadget is closed you should see the black nozzle orifice through the hole where the spray comes through the gadget. Select your desired level of fragrancing by setting the timer switch to 9, 18 or 36 minutes and close unit. The 1st spray will come after a 15 second delay.

I’ve turned the device on by setting my time interval—why isn’t it spraying fragrance?

Make sure the device has been turned off. First, check to be sure the nozzle is facing the correct direction. When the device is closed, you should see the black nozzle tip of the fragrance refill can through the opening in the front of the unit just to the right of the green light. If you cannot see the black nozzle tip, you may have incorrectly placed the fragrance refill can into the device with the black nozzle facing backwards.

Next, check to be sure that the red disc mechanism is in the raised position. To identify the red disc mechanism, locate the opening where the nozzle of the refill can should rest. If the red disc is blocking the opening, then using a pen with slight force, push the disc in an upward motion back up into place.

If you are having further problems, check to see if your batteries are securely positioned. Remember, if the batteries are not correctly set in place—with the positive ( + ) ends of the batteries completely aligned with positive end of the terminals—the FreshMatic®’s may not be receiving the power it needs to operate. Make sure that the batteries are making complete contact with each terminal.

Note: Your batteries should last approximately 4 refill cans. If the FreshMatic®’s green light stops flashing, you may need to replace your batteries.

My FreshMatic® device is open, and there is no fragrance in place. There is a red, disc mechanism that is preventing me from inserting my fragrance refill. What should I do?

In order to reposition the red disc mechanism and insert your fragrance refill, TURN DEVICE OFF, then with slight force, using a pen, push the mechanism back up into position. You can now insert your fragrance refill can and start over.
