BAE: Hawk Interactive

I built this Flash interactive kiosk app for use in BAE Systems Exhibitions during 2011. The application features extensive use of HD 1280 x 720 video for a full screen high quality presentation. The presentation allows the user to take an in-depth look at the capabilities and features of the Hawk training jet and see where it is deployed across the globe. The presentation was designed to run from a DVD and display on a large format HDMI style display.

All of the video assets, texts, graphics and settings within the presentation are able to be amended and updated via XML, so the presentation can be regularly upgraded and maintained without further need for publish or developer resource.

The client was extremely happy with the quality and functionality of the presentation which runs smoothly and quickly when viewed on a local machine. It performed well in the exhibition space.

You can view the full Hawk Interactive Demo here, but please be aware that this presentation is not optimised for internet use and therefore does not show any placeholders or notifications when large resources are being downloaded for playback.

Peugeot: www and 1007 / 207 launch

I Developed various flash websites, modules and tools for the Peugeot UK site during 2005/6. Including promotional sites for model launches, and Flash/XML based CMS modules for the Peugeot online showroom and financial services. The typical site for product specific launches are rich in interactivity and use of video, these sites are now inactive and, due to the extensive use of streamed video using Akamai Services, the high number of users and quantity of traffic, are unable to be currently viewed. Many of the modules for the financial services and showroom tools could still be seen on Peugeot’s site for several years.

The entire launch campaign was delivered seamlessly across all channels – advertising, direct marketing, website, event, and mobile. All communications activities leveraged the fresh art direction to ensure consistency and recognition.

Peugeot 207

Peugeot 207 .com site

The 207 launch site was an immersive flash site featuring many ways to explore, configure and learn about the 207. It featured a large amount of high quality video content and interactivity. I worked on several of the interactive modules for the site.

Diageo: Classic Malts

After successfully delivering on Diageo’s flagship Johnnie Walker brand. I then went on to deliver various flash websites and modules for Diageo’s other brands, including The Classic Malts, Bushmills, Cuervo and also created training and promotional materials for their Global sales staff and franchises. The flash work involved the development and delivery of sophisticated XML driven sites, where again I delivered CMS database and production tools to speed delivery and allow for easy regionalisation by other agencies and personnel. A good example being the multi region language website for their Whisky & Food promotion.

Whisky & food – promoting the appreciation of Whisky with recipes and suggestions for meals

I also produced a multi region/language interactive / educational CDs for their 300,000+ subscribers, and an an interactive training CD-Rom for the entire Global Diageo sales team. The Scotch Heritage CD was also released in several langauges and made available for web and deployed on Diageo’s intranet for staff training.

Diageo: Johnnie Walker

Johnnie Walker website

Johnnie Walker website

Developed the 2006 launch of Diageo’s flagship Johnnie Walker flash website. Working from existing site originally developed for the Korean market, my brief was to take the existing flash resource, extend and enhance the content, add new modules and convert to an XML driven dynamic site ready for regionalisation and roll-out across Diageo’s Global internet presence.

This involved working closely with Diageo’s IT to ensure integration with their CMS provided by Accenture, and liaise directly with the Global Marketing Manager to ensure the highest quality and timely delivery of the project. The delivery to the client included updated flash resource with support for XML regionalisation and configuration, CMS database and ASP publishing tools to enable rapid regionalisation, documentation and support for the main delivery team within Diageo.

Diesel: Collections and Diesel Denim 2002 – 2005

I was the Flash developer for Diesel’s seasonal campaigns for their fashion Collections and for the Diesel Denim range from 2002 through to 2005.

Creating the artistic and interactively rich flash based sites. I worked closely with the client and the team of art directors to deliver fun and exciting experiences to Diesel’s dedicated online community.

Diesel had over a million subscribers to their campaigns, and invested heavily in their online marketing communications, constantly trying to keep their fans enthused and up to date with their fashion collection and accessories.

The Diesel Denim campaign required a re-usable and easily re-skinnable interface which presented the entire available Male & Female Denim range. The flash and XML based solution I built for Diesel was successfully used for each seasonal campaign throughout 2002-2006.

My work won a standing ovation when it was presented to a meeting of European Diesel franchise operators and stakeholders, who had long wanted an online resource which showed the large variety of cuts and washes available in an easily accessible and comprehensive manner.

During my tenure as the lead Flash developer (EHS Brann / Euro 4D) I was responsible for many interactive websites, games and microsites for the famously indulgent Diesel Brand. I produced CD-Roms for in-store promotion and distribution to their extensive subscriber base.

I was lead programmer on all of Diesels campaigns during 2002 – 2005. Working closely with the digital design team, I was responsible for turning the often demanding briefs into functional reality, breaking down the tasks and programming requirements in a way which allowed a small production team to work in parallel to deliver the content rich, and highly interactive campaigns.

Mini: UK

I Developed various sections of the Mini UK site from 2002 to 2006. Producing games, microsites, modules and product customisation tools using Flash & XML.

Working within Mini’s strong brand identity and corporate guidelines I also successfully provided support for HTML and JavaScript integrating a substantial amounts of diverse content within their CMS systems and often to tight deadlines, closely linked to marketing campaigns and product launches.
